Fall has come to the southern hemisphere, as Peru is just under the equator. I am in Pisac, in the Sacred Valley, Valle Sagrado, in the Andean Highlands, in the heart of the Inka Empire. This place radiates with Bliss. The weather has been changing, the rains are over and the beautiful sunny dry fall/winter season has come to the green hills and terrasses. The sun is just perfectly warm, sometimes hot, yet also little sharp at 3000m altitude. Normally this would have been high season. Normally...
They said “don’t leave, stay with us” - When I left my new tribal family at Aro Iris in the jungle near Iquitos beginning of the month, “just to visit some friends in the Sacred Valley” I said “I’ll be back in no time!” The friends never made it in and I never made it out... The Valley became quarantine. The army took over the streets in Lima and Cusco...
Frog eats fly, tiger eats antilope, black hole eats star, virus eats human, human eats planet earth, worms eat the dead and the dead never really died. Nothing special happened and actually nothing got lost either. This is business as usual already, this is nature as it is. No need to go back.
The future is just great. It always is.
A bunch of us strangers have been drawn to get stuck together in the Wolf Totem Guesthouse in Rinconada just 20 min walking outside Pisac. Circumstance threw us in the same local energy field and had us play Lila, the play of life as life itself. We started with 15 people, then 9, now we are 6 left, soon 4, then none. With each person evacuated by their embassies the group dynamic redefined itself. We bonded magically as a group, we became a community suspened in the context of confinement, we dropped separation, emerged as love between human life form. We speak English, German, French, Spanish, Acceptance, Tolerance and Respect - all these languages. We share recepies in the kitchen, we share our culture and conditioning, we share the local grown food bought at the market, we share the milk directly from the cow in the nearby field, we share knowledge, we share awakening, we share misunderstandings and disagreements, we smile exploring, we dance cooking and cook dancing, we celebrate birthdays... We live our lives.
This thing happened and we happened with it. And even if this is not about us, it made me cook within a group once again, it made me finally offer true Hatha Yoga and non-dual Meditation classes (like many of us yogis around the world) it made me lead a Shanka Prakshalan Yogic master cleanse and it made me treat people’s “Panema“ with Kambo medicine of the Amazonian tree frog.
I became a teacher and it feels right.
We all did or learned something new. It made us be what we are and do and this is just fine.
And yet we are filled with so much gratitude that while many of our fellow beings were in a place of hell, we were in a place of heaven.
We will, like all of us, always remember when people will ask “ And where were you during the Covid-19 lockdown?”
Surrender. Transform. Transcend.
Be love.
Be one.
Be kind.
❤️.
